Perfect Moments

Last weekend I experienced my first perfect moment as a mom. Sure, there are always great moments happening when you are a mom, but then there are moments that just take your breathe away. You wish you could freeze time and live in that moment forever.

I thought that I knew what these moments felt like, until last weekend. The situation was really simple really. We had all just gone to the park. We packed a picnic. We packed a wind/sun tent. We found a tree, set up the tent and sat down to enjoy our lunch. I sat in the tent out of the wind and fed JJ. In front of me running around having a blast in the grass was Bess. She was so carefree and innocent. It was really beautiful. I don't think I have ever seen her so happy as she was in that moment. My husband brought the food over and we sat down and enjoyed our lunch. All together. One happy family. It was perfect. I have never felt the way I do now about a specific moment in time as I do that moment sitting as a family and watching Bess. It is so clear in my mind. Every time I replay it in my mind I get a goofy smile on my face. I just wish that I had gotten a picture of Bess in the grass running around.

Here are a couple of pictures I took this weekend. I just love JJ's cubby cheeks!
